10-29-2009 - The Halloween Show

Download (Right-click + Save Link As): 1:57:22 - 55mb

The topic was Halloween, and I was fortunate enough to be joined by my (at the time) girlfriend Stephanie. Stephanie came in to promote her band Canned Funk and their new single "Caution".

We talked about ghosts, sweeps of light, flashing lights, Halloween costumes, trick or treating and everything in between. We also played some Street Safe tracks and a 5 Minute Mystery.

Peter White discussed the history of Halloween, haunted houses, lightning, and raccoons.

On the phone we had Maggie call in to discuss her attempts at raising the dead, and Brendan from the Mixtape Marathon called in to say absolutely nothing.

We're in the middle of our Funding Drive, the station and the show desperately need your support, so if you can chip in a couple bucks, it's to a good cause: http://www.ckcufm.com/

10-22-2009 - Lost in Space

Download (Right-click + Save Link As): 1:52:09 - 52mb

Tonight's topic was Outer-Space, the Universe, Planets, Gravity, Stars, the Moon, as we celebrate the 41st Anniversary of Apollo 7 landing in the Atlantic Ocean after orbiting the earth 163 times.

We kicked off the show by playing a track from legendary rock band Crap Factory.

As usual we played another one of my poetry sets from the Cliche Cafe in the Byward Market, which was all about outer-space.

Sean Cooley called in to play our Star Wars Game, only to have his phone cut out and Mike answer the final question correctly (Jar Jar Binks). We played Juan Pedro's phony phone call using the Star Wars soundboard...and then we called a Denny's using the old lady's voice from said crank call.

We discussed Germany's plans to travel to the moon, my interview with Gerrard the Alien, teleportation devices, comet vomit, cows in space, and wolves in space.

In entertainment news, we played the made-for-radio-movie Gravitational Pull: A Love Story, and also checked out the Seinfeld spin-off show COSMOnauts, and Aaron Neville sang with Ernie from Sesame Street about living on the moon.

Bobby from Pure Radio Kaos also called in to recommend some CANCON.

10-15-2009 - The Weather Show

Oh boy, what a rough night. The show kicked off with some talk about Thanksgiving, which quickly turned into talk about Pantsgiving. Peter White commented on the origins of Thanksgiving, and later on mentioned nearly being struck by lightning.

The night's topic was the Weather, as we commemorated Hurricane Hazel's 55th Anniversary. We listened to Mississauga Mayor 'Hurricane' Hazel McCallion talk about women's boxing, my Cliche Cafe set, and a deleted scene from Rainman where he performs a Raindance.

Aztec Weather God Quetzalcoatl was drunk as a skunk, so we decided to have a water-balloon fight in studio. During Kofi's Korner, we discussed the effects of global warming.

We tried playing a game of Question Answer with McDonald's employees, but they were too busy, so instead we played with an employee from Mac's Convenience.

My sister Elise called in to lay some bad news on me, and sing her favourite song 'Rainbow Overture'.

This was the first non-commercial-free show we've had...one ad was for a new program called 'Famous Forests'.

We wrapped up the show with some Crazy Crazy Craigslist.

10-08-2009 - Animals and Pets

Download (Right-click + Save Link As): 1:52:22 - 52mb

Tonight's topic was Animals and Pets...which our first caller, Sean Cooley of Moonrappin' fame, was made aware of during the first minutes of the show. As part of our celebration of ROCKTOBER, the station is playing strictly rock music 24/7 throughout the month of October. The show's sponsor was Soda-Chugging Hits.

Peter White talked a bit about his cats and fish; I talked about Crocodile Thigh, Moo-Cow Mix-Ups, my old Bird Show, the leaky air conditioner in the studio, the youtube goat that yells 'Bob', and even found time to play some Pin the Tail on the Donkey with Mike from Kettleman's Bagel Co.

During this show we also revisited my dog story, the Baby Elephant Show, Grooves and Hooves, as well as the infamous Ferret Fone Conversations (including calls to Blockbuster, Pet Smart, and Critter Jungle).

Oh, and DJ Digs called in to say he wouldn't be late.

10-01-2009 - At the Movies

This week we're at the movies...

Download (Right-click + Save Link As): 1:56:22 - 54mb

Right off the top we tried to get into an in-depth conversation about To Kill a Mockingbird, only to be forced to play advertisements for our sponsor (Mayella's Chiffarobes). Once we again though, we found time to visit the Cliche Cafe, bring you the Morse Code News, and play some Crazy Crazy Craigslist.

Movies on our radar were the XXX-rated 'Little Foot Fetish Shop of Horrors', 'Grease: A Day in the Life of an Auto Mechanic', 'Rug Burns: Vigilante Cop - Episode 1', and 'Hair in 600 Seconds'.

Finally, Peter White shared his knowledge on VHS tapes, Andrew from the Charlatan dropped by to play our very own Star Wars Game, and Andrew's mom called in to the show and asked him to come home.

Juan Pedro capped things off by sharing his Christian Bale phony phone calls.
