06-24-2010 - Schooling

Download (Right-click + Save Link As): 1:01:14 - 35mb

With the school year coming to a close, the show focused on education, graduation, and teacher...ation. Special guest, and overseas Japanese correspondent, Brian from Free Association was in studio to talk about his experiences in the classroom. Taylor the psychologist joined us in our discussion on corporal punishment, yearbooks, bullying, and school clubs (Dead Poets Society).

During our short chat about our least favourite school subjects, I was haunted by a green protractor from high school.

OMG a green protractor!!! @$*%#!

Fortunately, we managed to capture the green protractor, and then we blended it into a pulp.

06-17-2010 - Religion + God

Download (Right-click + Save Link As): 1:57:39 - 57mb

Last night's show focused on Religion(s) and God(s) featuring special guest Rabbi Watson. Listeners sent in their questions to the good Rabbi, asking him about Judaism and killing Jesus Christ. Next, it was on to every shut-ins favourite game Name That Patron Saint.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

I hit the streets to ask people Which is the one true religion? and Peter White sat down and spoke with us about his thoughts on the night's topics.

My sister called in to tell us that she would marry a Rastafarian, but would not have tantric sex with a Buddhist. Another caller directed us towards the Belief-O-Matic which told us that Taylor was 100% Unitarian Universalist, whatever that means.

Rabbi Watson has distinguished facial hair, as all good rabbis do.

The World Famous All-Star Bible Thumpers failed to show up at the studio, so instead I played a recording of Taylor singing in the washroom, and the Little Brown Jug Remix (f/ White TheSaurus) produced by John Brownbag.

I ask myself this every day.

We also did the News, played some Crazy Crazy Craigslist, and talked about a whole bunch of other shit.

06-10-2010 - Aliens

Download (Right-click + Save Link As): 1:50:23 - 57mb

Last night's show focused on Aliens featuring special guest E.T. the Extra Terrestrial. We talked about crop circles, abductions, invasions, Area 51, UFOs, cattle mutilation and martians. We also discussed good ways to fight off an alien, including different weapons, from yo-yo's to blowtorches.

This past Sunday (June 6th) was Yo-Yo Day, so I hit up the university campus to ask people how they were celebrating the holiday. I also got their thoughts on Mr. T, what aliens would look like, and how much of a threat an alien attack there is, and the size of the alien fleet.

We got a call from R2D2; Peter White gave his 2 cents on extra terrestrial life and flying saucers; and we tried to call the St. Paul UFO Hotline.

CKCU Unplugged in Ottawa

In order to entertain our future masters (the aliens), Taylor & The Rubber Band Allstars played an impromptu set, including an acoustic version of Little Brown Jug.

06-03-2010 - Buildings & Structures

Download (Right-click + Save Link As): 2:00:21 - 57mb

Last night's show focused on Buildings & Structures (sorta) featuring special guest Jackie Chan. We talked about the Skydome, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Great Pyramids, Ninja Cats, and still managed to fit in a Thunder Round.

Sports Guy Stephen D'Anna
gave us his playoff picks and rapper H.W. phoned in from somewhere in Ontario to plug his upcoming gig at Zaphod Beeblebrox and tell us he spent last night sleeping in a tractor ditch. Jesse Dangerously and BRZOWSKI were in the same car so we spoke to them for a quick minute too.

In the Moon Down Mail Bag, we answered a couple questions from listeners about haunted houses, good suicide spots, and the BP oil leak.

In the news:
It's International Sign Language Week!

Taylor reviewed the boxcutter in his weekly segment, and finally, for What's in the trash can, garbage man? we used the trusty blender to mix up a CD, a newspaper, a piece of gum, and some water.
