11-26-2009 - Celebrity Birthday Bash

Download (Right-click + Save Link As): 1:57:47 - 57mb

Off the top of the show we recognized American Thanksgiving and listened to Peter White's thoughts on the holiday. Then it was right into an interview with JR Digs, which was rounded out by a telemarkter call from Man with a Van.

My sister Elise called into the show, talked about our cousin Andrea (DJ John) and expressed her desire to continue the birthday festivities by playing Pin the Tail on the Donkey.

The next interview featured Morgan Waters from Sweet Thing.

Sebastien from Montreal called in to play Question/Answer, only to get Sokol'd.

To round out the show we played interviews with JP Hasson from JP Inc. (formerly Pleaseeasaur), Kenneth Joel Hotz from Kenny Vs. Spenny, and some outtakes from the Spencer Nolan Rice interview.

We also played some tunes by Friends of Emmet (F.O.E.).

11-19-2009 - Under the Sea

Download (Right-click + Save Link As): 1:55:14 - 54mb

Finally, I'm back on Terra firma and able to post last night's episode. For the last 24 hours I've been aboard the SS Piece of S, 20 000 leagues under the sea of the Ottawa river.

As usual, we kicked things off by listening to my set from the Cliche Cafe. We then played some audio from when I ordered a Submarine Sandwich. Aztec Weather God 'Quetzalcoatl' kept our listeners up to date from our very own heli-chopper, and I explained the logic behind Monkey Ski, Monkey Do, Monkey Ski-doo. We also took a moment to reminisce about our Octopus Octagon. We also got around to resurrecting the Gangsta Word of the Week, which happened to be 'Cola Surfer' and I talked about the legend of the Oar Whore. Finally, I talked a bit about my favourite TV show Late Nite Chum Talk w/ Adolphe Inn.

Stephanie from Ottawa-based Canned Funk called in to the show and sang along with the Little Mermaid's 'Under the Sea'.

At 1AM, our FM broadcast signal went down, due to a planned outage I had not been told about. I continued the show for our online audience over on www.ckcufm.com and eventually had the bright idea to check in on the CHUO 89.1 FM stream. This lead me to call up my arch-nemesis Doug Ralph, host of competing program Do you hear what I hear? We talked about his claim to having "the greatest late night radio show in Ottawa", his East Coast tour, my involvement with University of Ottawa radio, and racing for pink slips.

With about a half hour left I started wondering if Digory (host of the Mixedtape Marathon) would be coming in. I got him on the phone and we argued about who's program should be aired overnight, but the question remained, would DJ Digs show up?

And then I decided to freestyle mad jams up in yo ass for the last ten minutes of the show with my main man Juan Pedro.

11-12-2009 - Law Makers and Breakers

Download (Right-click + Save Link As): 1:48:01 - 50mb

Tonight's show was all about violence, crime, policemen, lawmakers and breakers.

Unfortunately, I had to use a text-to-speech computer program for the whole show because I lost my voice. We kicked things off by listening to my set from the Cliche Cafe. Later on, we revisited the issues surrounding Cinema Politica and Marc Kelly, as well as the G-Man's (Gerrard Daeschel) run in with the 5-0.

At the top of the hour, we covered traffic on the Ottawa roads and highways. We also played some Crazy Crazy Craigslist; White TheSaurus's newest single 'Whymanizer' from his 'The 90's Mixtape'; and my duet of Ain't No Mountain High Enough.

Halfway through the second hour, we remembered fondly our very first episode in which we covered CB Radios and Police Scanners. We also managed to find some time to play the second episode of Rug Burns: Vigilante Cop. And finally, the topic of field sobriety tests was broached.

Big thanks goes out to anyone who donated to the station during our annual funding drive!

11-05-2009 - Swine Flu Funding Drive Special

Download (Right-click + Save Link As): 1:52:13 - 52mb

My alter-ego, the Moon Dog, was in studio feeling ill for our Swine Flu Funding Drive Special!

Stephanie, lead singer of the band Canned Funk, dropped by to promote 'Caution (Remix)' and took a couple calls about the band's upcoming Euro-Tour.

A long-time caller said the swine flu vaccine is a conspiracy being funded by General Motors.

We played my funding drive ad from last year, and talked about where all the funding drive money is going. Some of the items we have purchased are: an A-Frame Ladder, a hammer, some aerosal spray, a jackhammer, and some motorcycles to name a few. We also let Sigmund Freud's Robotic Android make a couple phoney phone calls.

In the second hour, we played an episode of The Strange Dr. Weird, which was about lifting weights, apes, and tommy guns.

Special thanks goes out to my sisters Celine, Elise, and my Mom for donating to the show and the station.
